More from Liverpool Community Radio

In addition to yesterday’s post about the radio show recapping the ‘Feeling Funny’ courses and shows, there is more! A few of us from the Wellpool team did the most recent course.

I first met the person behind Liverpool Community Radio, Steve Faragher  about five years ago when   involved with a magazine project at the Umbrella centre, one of PSS wellbeing centres. He was offering opportunities to train with the station at the time but my lack of confidence was such that I didn’t take up the offer. This time round was different.  Steve was invited the WellPool Blog management group to talk about the station and the training and I agreed this time to give it a go. It helped that there were a group of people I knew going along. So much so, that on that first training session they needed to rearrange the furniture to accommodate all those interested. Eventually the group reduced to 6 who have now gone on to write and present a 55minute radio show. It was scary, I’ll not deny it, but for me in a getting a train to London on my own type of scary, not a trip to Australia. There was plenty of advice on hand throughout and I did have a lot of fun as well. I hope you like the show, I fully intend to use the skills I have developed again, whether with L-C-R, the WellPool Blog and who knows, when the BBC come calling I may think about their offer to take over from Graham Norton providing the price is right.
